GENERAL RULES, REQUIREMENTS & ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

1

A candidate seeking admission to the college is required to fulfill the following requirements :

 

  • To fill in all the particulars on the prescribed Admission Form, appended in the Prospectus, in his/her own hand-writing. Incomplete form will be rejected.

 

  • To affix four passport size latest photographs, including two photographs on the identity card on the specified space of the Admission Form.

 

  • To attach the following certificates/documents with the Admission Form.

 

  • Certified copies of certificate/detailed marks card of having passed the lower examination.

 

  • A copy of the matriculation certificate as a proof of the date of birth.

 

  • Character certificate from the head of institution last attended as regular student

 

  • Students belonging to Scheduled castes / Tribes / Backward Classes are required to attach a certificate to the effect from the competent authority. Affidavits will not be accepted

Students from the Universities of Punjab State or Punjab School Education Board will not be required to produce eligibility certificate from Guru Nanak Dev University. A student from any other Indian University or Board seeking admission / migration to the college will be required to attach the following additional documents :

 

  • Inter-University Migration Certificate

 

  • United National University, Delhi

Failed/detained/absentee students from any College / University Exam. will not be admitted to the college in any case.

Such students whose result of the lower examination is notified as 'Result Later' by any Board or University except our college students who appeared as regular candidates, will not be allowed admission to the higher class even provisionally

Admission to different classes will be made on the basis of merit to be determined by academic merit and/or written test as per the admission criteria

A student who joins the college and subsequently appears as private candidate forfeits the rights to admission in the college in future

A student can not apply for more than two courses in one session. For each course he/she has to be fill in a separate form. In case he/she is selected in both, choice would be with the candidate. As and when the candidate deposits the fee for one course, the claim for the other course will be automatically forfeited.

The candidates applying for any course will pay registration fee of Rs. 300/- However, the candidates applying for the course, where the admission is based on Entrance Test, will pay registration fee of Rs. 400/-.

Students who are placed under compartment in any examination may not be allowed admission to the higher class

Students admitted provisionally to any class are required to submit the original certificate of the lower examination passed within 30 days of the admission for issue of UniversityRegistration number to confirm admission by the university. In case of non-compliance of the same the admission of the student shall stand cancelled automatically and the dues paid by the student shall not be refunded.

If a student makes a false declaration or conceals any information in the Admission Form, his/her admission to the college shall stand cancelled without any notice as soon as the false declaration or concealed information is detected. The case may be handed over to the police

The principal reserves the right to refuse admission to any candidate, if he is satisfied that the refusal is in the interest of the college.

The principal reserves the right to refuse admission to any candidate/student who was involved in strike/agitation or indulged in misconduct or indiscipline in the college / hostel in the preceding year/years or where the principal is satisfied that the refusal is in the interest of the college.

In case of serious misbehavior, indiscipline or disturbance toacademic atmosphere of the college, absence from class/house test or indulgence in unfair means in any test/examination or possessing mobiles in the campus, the principal has the right to impose heavy fine or cancel admission and ban his/her entry into the college.

To maintain the high academic standards in the college the eligibility criteria for all classes will be laid down by the college authorities which will be either at par or above the minimum requirements of the G.N.D.U. The decision of the college authorities in this regard shall be final and the criteria may be revised from time to time during admission period.

Equivalent examination means that the examination should be duly recognized by G.N.D.U. as equivalent thereto
